A fact about me: For many years, I was in the event planning industry. My mother was a wedding coordinator, and I was her assistant. Because of that, I LOVE weddings! The Midlands has a number of beautiful wedding venues.
Here are my top 5:
Doko Manor
Doko Manor is located on the grounds of Doko Meadows Park, in Blythewood. The Manor is situated on a small lake, which makes a picturesque location for an outdoor wedding. The seating capacity for the Main Ballroom is 250 guests.

Located in northeast Columbia, The Gala & The Gwynn boast a combined total of 18,000 square feet of event space. The Kennedy Ballroom, in The Gala, features a baby grand piano, which makes a great photo backdrop. The Gwynn, the smaller of the two facilities, is perfect for more intimate occasions and wedding ceremonies.

Central Energy
When it comes to event spaces, Central Energy is the new kid on the block. They held their grand opening celebration in March of this year. The building once served as the power plant for the former SC State Hospital. At one time, it pumped out steam, didn’t have any windows, and was full of machinery. It has now been transformed into a beautiful event venue. The venue features a large stage, which is perfect for a live band.
