My family and I attended the Midlands Family Food Festival this past Sunday. It was held at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. All of the food trucks/vendors set-up and parked in the center’s parking lot. When we got to the festival, we couldn’t decide what we wanted to eat because there were SO many vendors! My nephew said he wanted some french fries. Because we saw fries on their menu, we got in line for the Metro City Grille truck.
What I Like About Metro City Grille…
When we got in line, I looked at the menu and saw my usual, a bacon cheeseburger. My sister also wanted a bacon cheeseburger. She was in front of me in the line and ordered first. The woman told her they had run out of bacon. As a result, I had to choose something else. I ended up ordering the Mushroom Swiss burger.
The burger was DELICIOUS! The veggies on the burger – lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and pickles – were fresh. The lettuce was not brown and wilted. I’ve ordered burgers from franchise restaurants, and the toppings were not fresh and wilted. Usually, I add mustard, mayo and ketchup to my burgers. This burger was juicy and seasoned so well that I didn’t even need condiments. It reminded me of the burgers that my parents would make when I was a child.
The french fries were really good also! They were seasoned fries. However, they weren’t seasoned like most restaurants usually do. My nephew made the comment that the fries tasted a little like pizza. I did see some herbs in the seasoning. Oregano maybe? Hmmm…
